Evaluation of todays lesson

In todays lesson at coleridge, our first task which we had to do, was to sit down and watch a few short films. In my opinion all of the films which we watched were very strange and nothing like what I have watched previously.

Out of all of the films which we watched, my favourite one was The Big Shave. In the big shave, it starts of with a few shots around a bathroom, and has no music. When the music starts, you feel that something is going to happen, and then a man walks in the bathroom and the music, again changes. The main focus of this short film is when the man starts shaving over the same place over and over again. Eventually he starts bleeding, but he doesn't seem to care at all. By the end of the short film he has taken layers from his skin, and the blood starts pouring on the floor.
This can get the audience in two ways; it can either freak them out, or it can be very humourus, and make them laugh. I know that i found it be very humourus.

The short film which I found to be the most boring and dull one, was the Berlin Horse. The reason why I felt that the Berlin Horse was the most boring out of all of them, is because, in the film, it only has a black horse running round in circles in black and white, and then half way through it, they decide to rewind and fast forward it, and add a few colours including:red, green, yellow, blue and orange. The film all the way through is also very blurey.

Our second task of the day was to choose two of the short films, and find out some information about them. I chose 'The Big Shave' and 'Berlin horse'.
Here is what i found out about both of them:

The Big Shave:

Berlin Horse:

The third task of the day was to get into our parteners. I have chosen to work with Liam for this project. We then had come up with ideas for our 'risk' project. Me and Liam drew out a spider diagram, and on it we plotted out some of the ideas which we might use for our final one minute animation. The idea which we are thinking of using at the moment is the one with the image of the man holding a unicycle, and a pigeon about to hit him. We decided we were going to use this one because it is humourus, and we wanted a funny animation.

The final task of the day, was to go to the LRC and find an artist or art book which has work which we would like to take examples from. I think that todays lesson was very fun, and I am very excited about getting down to doing the animation with Liam, as me and him have already got an idea we feel that we are going to use for our final piece, for this risk animation project.
