Review on Beautiful Losers

The film beautiful losers is all about artists, and about the type of art work and paintings they do. In this film it basically shows how chaotic outsider art became mainstream, and popular.

Beautiful losers is a very facinating and different film to what you would usually watch, because, all of the artists are very weird, but unique in their own ways. You could say that they were charismatic freaks with creative minds. Everything about them is odd, whether it would be their statement t-shirts, complicated haircuts, and their impossibly rare trainers. It is a film directed by artist Aaron Rose, and this is a story of how 1990's outsider art: Graffiti, skateboard deck art, and graphic art- was co-opted by the mainstream, and how artists such as Thomas Campbell, Mike Mills, Ed Templeton, Harmony Korine, and Shepard Fairey, evolved into the great, creative forces they are today.

We look at all of the artists techniques, and why they chose to paint the way they do, and how they come up with what they are going to paint next. In this film, we see the interest in which each artist has in what they do, and how these people end up having incredible impact in the world of art.

In my opnion the film is very interesting, but strange. All of the artists have a brilliant creative mind which shows in the art which they produce. The colours and patterns that these people come up with make you wonder how such great, wonderful, and big things, come out of such small human beings..... Welcome to weird mans land!!!
